Heritage Month Celebrations at USC

Heritage Month celebrations are inclusive, impactful, and representative of USC’s diverse student body. They are supported based on the following criteria: the Heritage Month must be officially recognized at a national level through either a U.S. Presidential Proclamation or Congressional resolution; represent a broad and inclusive cultural group; the cultural group should have a significant representation within the USC student population; and the celebration should commemorate significant historical events, contributions, or challenges faced by the cultural group. This approach enhances educational opportunities, aligns with social justice initiatives, and promotes a deeper understanding of the cultural group’s impact on history and society.

Heritage Month Celebrations are supported by the Office of Culture, Ethics, and Compliance, Cultural Relations and University Events (CRUE), Student Life, and USC Communications. These programs are open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or any other prohibited factor.
